My name is Deanna Sessions and I am a PhD candidate in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Penn State University. I am a member of the Huff Research Group under the advisement of Gregory Huff where we study and explore applied electromagnetic theory and antenna design.
I was born and raised in Plano, Texas. I graduated from Texas A&M University in December 2016 with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and minors in Physics and Mathematics. I started graduate school at Texas A&M in January 2017. In August 2018, I transferred to Penn State following my research advisor to complete my PhD. I completed my M.S. in Electrical Engineering at Penn State in December 2019 and am presently continuing pursuing a PhD.
My current research includes designing origami electromagnetic structures and characterizing flexible materials necessary to realize these designs. Such structures require unconventional fabrication methods; e.g., additive manufacturing and the development of new materials.
